Vacation to Maui
Continental Airlines increased its holiday service to Honolulu with a non-stop flight from Houston. The flight is scheduled to provide service between December 17th and January 10th. This will bring up the number of non-stop Continental flights per day from two to three.
Continental Airlines is not the only carrier increasing service to the islands. Alaska Air recently added a flight from Oregon and Canada Air added nonstop flights from Calgary. More air service to Hawaii means more competitive rates between carriers. Of course demand will increase with the holidays as it always does, regardless of economic troubles. All in all, you can expect to see rates which cater to tighter budgets.
According to the 2009 Travel Leaders Fall Travel Trends Survey, Honolulu and Maui's Kahului were both on the nation's top ten most-booked travel destinations. Honolulu placed at number four and Kahului placed at number five. Las Vegas came in first, followed by Orlando and New York. There is a reason that so many vacationers choose Maui. As opposed to the four cities before it on the list, Maui is tranquil. Don't look for any skyscrapers here. This is the place for much smaller crowds and pristine natural beauty.
Travel news seems to be looking up all around lately, and that is exciting. If you are considering a trip to Maui, keep an eye out for the really excellent deals being offered at this time. They won't last forever if things continue to turn around for the economy, so if you want to visit, this is the time to do it.
