Maui's To Grow in Love Benefit Concert
Care to enjoy a truly authentic Hawaiian experience on your Maui vacation? Here's an opportunity to break the mold of typical vacation activities and get to know the local Maui community. The Maui Historical Society and friends is hosting their 9th annual fundraiser known as, "E Ho'oulu Aloha - To Grow in Love" on Saturday, November 28th from 9a.m. to 3p.m. at the Bailey House Museum and historic Yokouchi residence in Wailuku. Admission to the museum is free.
Why attend? This is a great opportunity for couples, families, or friends on vacation to take advantage of genuine and authentic wares offered by local Maui vendors. There will be arts and crafts booths, food booths, a silent auction and you can do some pre-holiday shopping at the museum gift shop.
Observe lei makers and lauhala weavers practice their elegant crafts. Enjoy entertainment including volunteer performances of Hawaiian music and hula from Uluwehi Guerrero, Lei`ohu Ryder, and Richard Ho`opi`i. The event is emceed by Uncle Poki from Pacific Radio Group.
Between the food, the booths, the relaxing hula and music, you will be exposed to a full spectrum of true Hawaiian culture. Seeing as this is a fundraiser, you will also have the satisfaction of knowing that money spent will go to a good cause. If you appreciate Hawaiian culture and wish to contribute to its preservation, check it out! Admission to the event is $10 if you pay in advance and $15 on the day of the event. Again, you get admission to the museum for no additional fee. Kids under 12 get in free with a paid adult. Call the Bailey House Museum at 244-3326 to buy tickets.
