"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" to be Filmed in Hawaii

This summer, the fourth installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie franchise will be filmed in Hawaii. According to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, they've always sought out, "the most extraordinary and exotic locations for the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films."
Naturally, they wound up shooting on Maui and Molokai for 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End' and the state will certainly be glad to have them back for more filming. Bruckheimer said of their past experience on Maui and Molokai that, "Hawaii provides an amazing range of both land and seascapes, and we're delighted to return for 'On Stranger Tides'.
If Jerry Bruckheimer finds our incredible islands worthy of such high praise that he and others working on the project plan to film one of the most thrilling set of epic films, then you can bet that you yourself will not be disappointed by vacationing here with us.
This isn't just good news for visitors, though. Residents will also flourish thanks to the filming of this movie, seeing as there will be a very nice boost to the state's economy including an estimate $85 million in direct and indirect spending associated with the film. Hundreds of jobs will be created for local residents as well. The film is scheduled for release in the summer of 2011.
