Moonlit Tidepool Exploration Activity

The Pacific Whale Foundation is a non-profit organization that pioneers marine research, conservation and education. They are a very active presence here on Maui and have taken many a happy visitors out on whale watching cruises. On Saturday the 22nd of this month, they will be leading a tidepool exploration by moonlight in South Maui.

For those of you who are interested in Maui's rich marine life, an after-dark tide pool excursion is not something to miss! You will likely be amazed at all the amazing marine life to be found right at the shore. The pools house brittle stars, sea urchins, octopus, crabs, shrimp, fish of all kinds, and occasionally sea cucumbers along with many other less common animals.

The event will take place between 7-8p.m. at a South Maui tidepool. The age range is recommended at 6 and over. All you need is a pair of sturdy shoes and a flashlight. It's $10 per adult and $5 per child, which is incredibly affordable for the value of the experience. Also, you'll know that the money will go towards the preservation of the creatures you are there to see.
